I acquired this medal along with Bramsen #1633 at an extremely good price. Since neither are restrikes I have to believe that the good price was because both were damaged on the obverse.
 
Oudinot is best remembered for his converging elite troops, particularly grenadiers, to provide shock troops for his commands.
