Exergue: T. MERCANDETTI. S. ROMAE MDCCCXV.
Rev: Sous une tête de maure: POPLVO CHRISTIANO PLAVDENTE PIVS VII P. M. PONTIFICIO SOLIO RESTITVTVS ROMAM INGREDITVR DIE XXIV MAII MDCCCXIV.
Médaille, 40 mm. - Inédite; Amspach No 6683.

Though dated 1814 in Bramsen the obverse was clearly not engraved until 1815. This celebrates the return of the Pope to Rome on 24th May, 1814. Napoleon had held Pius VII prisoner since 1809. The allegory of an angel leading St. Peter from the prison (Acts Chapter 12:7-10) is pretty obvious.
