This medal commemorates in general terms the activity of the British army in the Netherlands.
   One of Mudie's National Medals (see No. 1057) issued in 1820. Examples of this medal are believed to have been struck in gold but no specimen has been met with.

A gauche un fleuve qui s'appuie sur une urne d'où coule l'Escaut, sur lequel vogue un navire de guerre antique. Rev:Un taureau marchant à droite; derrière lui un drapeau aux lettres G R couronnées, surmonté du lion anglais. Au fond, à droite, on aperçoit les tours de la ville d'Anvers.

Once again the British and the French have a disagreement over which side is obverse and which is reverse. This example is struck in white metal or pewter indicating that it is a later restrike and not from the original 1820s strikings.
