Obverse - Arms of the town of Dundee. See Angusshire No. 8. The crest is incorrectly depicted without a torse, which makes the flowers appear as though they were part of the contents of the pot shown in the arms, and the Supporters are shown proper instead of vert. the two Mottos of Dundee are given "Dei Donum" above, and "Prudentia et Candore" beneath.

Reverse - Inscription in six lines: SELLS WHOLESALE WOOLEN & LINEN DRAPERY GOODS WATCHES &c &c CHEAP
Edge:- Plain in a collar.

Comments. W. Croom was a dealer in woollen and linen drapery goods, watches and sundry articles, with a business in the High Street.
 
   The obverse design of the town Arms is well done and with the exception of the crest and tincture of the supporters is finely executed. The reverse is spoilt by the mistake in spelling WOOLLEN with one L.
