1842

Louis Philippe I, King of France
Obverse - France - Louis Philippe I, King of France - 1842 Reverse - Ferdinand Philippe, Duke of Orléans - 1842
Obverse, Bust, left.
Legend:, LOUIS PHILLIPE I ROI DES FRANCAISE
Under the bust:, BARRE
Reverse:, A mounted horseman, presumably the Royal Prince, sword drawn facing right.
Legend:, L'ARMÉE AU DUC D'ORLÉANS PRINCE ROYAL
Exergue:, M.DCCC.XLII
27mm.

This medal clearly pre-dates the Royal Prince's death which also occurred in 1842. It's insteresting in that each side features a different person.

I know there must exist decent numismatic references for the post-Napoleonic era but I collect so little from the period I have never bothered to seek them out. There is a period from the death of Napoleon I to the death of Wellington that I include in this observation.
