| Compare the reverse of this piece to the Consular piece from 1800. It is nearly identical. Like that later piece I really don't have a clue what this commemorates. The smaller basin, where the jet of water actually rises is slightly different in shape from the illustration below. This may just be the artist's interpretation or it may be a variant that they were working from. |
