| This heavy thick coin is worn almost smooth. In coin collecting circles this is known as a 'cull' or 'filler' coin. It barely retains enough details to make it identifiable. When I run across another of this type I'll replace this one's scan with one that shows more detail. It is pleasing though to think that this coin passed through many hands, perhaps one after another of Wellington's 'scum of the earth' as they purchased the necessities of life in the process of getting this worn. |
