The Electorate of Salzburg was cobbled together as a consolation prize for Ferdinand III of Tuscany whose possessions were taken to help form the Kingdom of Eturia. He was a younger brother of the Austrian Emperor Francis and finally regained Tuscany after the end of the wars in 1814.
