The Répertoire des Monnaies Napoléonides says (p. 221) that the mintage for this piece was 4,962,781 for 1810 making it the most common year of this six year type. As with all Spanish pieces with Joseph on them their relative scarceness leads one to believe that most were recycled after the wars were over. It describes the coin as follows:

Métal: Argent 900 ‰ Poids: 5,8 à 6 g.
ø: 25 à 26,3 mm Ensayador: A.I

  Date à l'exergue

  Valeur: 4 à la gauche et R. à la droite des armes.
