Vern's Comments:

This is restrike dates from 1936-1961. The 1780 Austrian Thaler functioned as a near universal currency in various parts of the world where the recognizable coin and reliable weight in silver facilitated trade.
The PVC damage on both sides and smudge on the obverse are my fault. In my defence this was one of the first coins I collected nearly fifty years ago. Use mylar or other proper materials to store your precious!
