In 1911 D&H considered this piece common, while by 1980 Brown lists it as RRR and doesn't make the connection to D&H. Of course both this (1165) and 1164 fit the description in Brown.

No specific information concerning this piece has been found, but it may have been issued after the 'Irish rebellion' of 1798 which was suppressed in 1799. In 1801 the legislative Union of Great Britain and Ireland took place.
