DECLARATION. OF THE CONGRESS OF VIENNA. Mercure planant dans les airs au-dessus du globe terrestre. Dans la main gauche il montre un rouleau avec l'inscription : TO ARMS.
Exergue: XIII MARCH.
: Un aigle portant le foudre plane au-dessus de la mer agitée, laquelle laisse voir l'ile d'Elbe. A gauche, au premier plan, un temple aux portes brisées avec l'inscription: TEMPLVM. JANI.

Having spent nine months on Elba and being constantly informed of events in France and Italy, Napoleon left the island on the night of 26th February 1815; he landed near Antibes at the head of 1,000 men and marched for Paris.
    One of Mudie's National Medals (see No. 1057) issued in 1820. Examples of this medal are believed to have been struck in gold but no specimen has been met with. See also note to No. 796.
