Head of the Queen Hortense, a diadem of myrtle round her head, hair dressed a la grecque.

Legend:

ΟΡΤΗΣΙΑ ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑ, within a dotted circle;

Exergue:

under the head a Greek monogram of artist's name (ANDRIEU).

Size:

23 mm.

Reverse:

on the field an inscription, S. M. LA REINE HORTENSE VISITE LA MONNAIE DES MÉDAILLES.

This petite medal was struck by the order of the French government commemorative of the visit paid to the medal mint by the Queen Hortense.
