Vern's Comments:

This poor token has suffered at the hands of some fool that thought they could clean it up. I bought it because my uncle's name is B. Pryce! Close enough...

Diesinker and manufacturer are unknown. Scarce.

Comments. B. Price was the proprietor of a hostelry near the church whose sign was a greyhound, hence the reverse design.

The obverse shows a south view of St. Mary's Church, Hendon, which is built on a hill to the north of the village, and has a fine view. The church was old when the token was struck, and the tower small and rather poor, but with a peal of six bells. Inside there were a number of fine monuments, and a double chancel, nave, and two aisles with octagonal pillars and pointed arches.
