Vern's Comments:

This appears to be an original white metal example struck with the normal artificial patina added to it. While unlisted they show up often enough for me to believe it was a fairly common practise by the mint, though perhaps not admitted to.

Laskey:

This medal was also struck to perpetuate the event described in the preceding medal.
