at how much of this the British public believed.
There's a remarkable set of coincidences that seem to follow the men
who followed Napoleon. Most were thieves of some sort or another, married
to rather common women who have all been used professionally or otherwise
by the Bonaparte men.
While some are admittedly good officers (I suspect these men had beaten
British troops at some time), the rest are considered pretty mediocre
at best.
